Safety and environment

Toward people and the environment

Security, our priority

At Chimica Panzeri we pay the utmost attention to ensuring the safety and health of our employees and the surrounding area, complying as best we can with all the obligations of the complex framework of regulations in the chemical sector.
According to the provisions of Legislative Decree 105/15 (Seveso Law) we are classified as an upper threshold establishment, given the storage and processing of toxic and/or environmentally hazardous raw materials or finished products (phrases H400, H410 and H411).
This is a risk situation of which the management is fully aware, and which leads to substantial and continuous investment in the improvement of plant safety, as well as in the training and information of employees or anyone accessing the production site.
With this in mind, the publication and discussion of the major accident prevention policy constitutes a first and immediate communication and liaison tool between the Company and social actors.

We have embarked on a Green

Increasing attention to the environment

We implement best practices to protect and safeguard the environment, in full compliance with current regulations.
Our dedicated facility allows us to incorporate legislative updates and ever-changing national and international standards in a timely manner.
But that’s not enough for us.
We are working hard, with major projects, to become an increasingly “green” and sustainable company.
Already since 2007 we have obtained, through Decree 8868, the integrated environmental authorization (Legislative Decree 152/06).
In 2017 we achieved the goal of RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification, for the use of sustainable palm oil, and we have embarked on the path to have the Carbon Footprint calculation method recognized for our organization, to get to effectively communicate the amount of Co2 we produce.

Our flagship

A unique photovoltaic system

The photovoltaic system we installed on the roofs of our Orio al Serio plants is our flagship when we talk about eco-sustainability.
We built it in just 105 days from the date we signed the agreement, in September 2018, and at that time it was the first 1 MegaWatt photovoltaic plant in the whole province of Bergamo.
We are talking about a 3277-panel system, on 3 buildings, managed by 26 inverters, which allowed us to achieve 50% energy savings.
We are continually studying initiatives and solutions that allow us to achieve real energy savings, cutting production costs while contributing to environmental protection.
